Apostolic Bible College (ABC) aims to lead every adult Christian believer entering through its doors into an experiential journey where the student grows in the Love of Christ and knowledge of the Word of God, matures into the image of Christ, and flourishes in ministry anointed by the Spirit of God. At ABC, we believe that Biblical knowledge, Christ-like character, and the anointing of the Holy Spirit are all equally important for the fulfillment of God’s plan and purpose in our lives. ABC is designed to help every student embark on their transformation journey and experiential learning. Our students discover and embrace their royal identity, learn the values of the Kingdom, and walk in the authority and power of the King.

Deluxe Rooms

4-6 students share one room with bunk beds, study tables, and cupboards.

Standard Rooms

10 students share the room with bunk beds, study areas, and cupboards.

Residential Suites

All the residential halls contain bedrooms and bathrooms. The rooms are well lit and ventilated. The residential suites are well furnished, with a bed, cupboard for storage, tables, and chairs for each student.

Super Deluxe Rooms

Double sharing room with an attached bathroom, a bed, one set of bedsheets and a pillow cover, a study table, a chair, a water cooler, and a TV room.

Food

As the college has local and international students, the menu is designed with a combination of various cuisines including Indian, Chinese and Continental food. Emphasis is laid on hygiene, quality and the cleanliness of the food prepared in the hostel’s own kitchen by skilled cooks. The students will be served breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner.

Menu

We provide both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food according to the needs of our students. A typical menu at ABC will consist of: 

Breakfast

Milk tea coffee bread butter jam, One Main Dish (parathas, Pasta, Chole Bhature, PooriBaji, Poha, Idli/Vada/Dosa and Sambar), cereal, fruit, and an egg preparation.

Lunch and Dinner

Both have a preparation of rice, dal, varieties of cooked vegetables, soups, a curd-based preparation, roti/ paratha/poori salad, pickle, and sweet dish or Punjabi or Chinese based layouts.

Snacks

Tea, coffee and one snack (Bhel puri, samosa, Pasta, sandwiches, burgers, Pav Bhaji, etc.)

Security:

The campus is monitored by security staff 24/7. There is also a hotline number that can be contacted in times of emergency.

Welcome to the “Princess of Hill Stations”

Kodaikanal is a town in the hills of the Dindigul District in the state of Tamil Nadu. Its well preserved lush green forests give the town an almost enchanting appearance.

Hike along the Coaker’s walk

The Coakers Walk was constructed in 1872, by Lieutenant Coaker – a beautiful man-made one-kilometre-long walking strip – on the steep slope of the mountains. The walk is known to give visitors mesmerizing views of Kodaikanal (also known to tourists from Europe as ‘Paradise on Earth’)

It is a preferred location for morning and evening walks, and admirers of nature visit the location often to capture the wonderful lush green valleys and the hills of Kodaikanal. One can also choose to ride a bicycle to explore the scenic location. The sight is breathtakingly beautiful, and it almost makes one feel like they are walking in the clouds. The walk begins near Van Allen Hospital and joins the main road above St. Peter’s Church. The pathway is fenced by the edge of the mountain for the safety of the visitors.

Visit scenic Waterfalls

The waterfalls in Kodaikanal are the most coveted by the travelers who come here. Stand under the milky waters thrashing down from an expansive height for a natural back massage or take a dip in the refreshing ponds below them. You can even hike up on some of these falls for an adventurous twist. If not all this, then just come here and admire their beauty from afar.

Amongst many the 8 best waterfalls in Kodaikanal are Bear Shola Falls, Silver Cascade Waterfall, Vattakanal Waterfalls, Fairy Falls, Kumbakkarai Falls, Liril Falls, Pambar Falls. Some of them are also perfect spots for a serene picnic with your friends and family.

Experience the serenity of the Pine Forests

The Pine Forests of Kodiakanal is the most important preserved heritage in the town. Pine Forests came into existence due to the efforts put in by Mr. Bryant as he was the one to state the pine plantations to grow the timber in the year 1906. The sight of pine trees present in abundance, with the forests appearing grey with dried cones and leaves – presents perfect scenic views for long walks and some relaxing moments in the natural surroundings. One can opt for horse riding, nature walks or taking photographs. An exciting camping experience can also be looked forward to at the forests after you obtain permission from the local authorities about the same.

Explore the waters in the Kodaikanal Lake

Kodai Lake is a manmade lake, situated at an elevation of 2285m above sea level and has an average depth of 3.0m, in Kodaikanal city. The star-shaped lake was developed by the British and early missionaries from the USASA and is surrounded by the rich green Palani Hills Range the main watershed for the lake.

Stand on top of the world at Dolphin’s Nose

The Dolphin’s Nose viewpoint, is a visible cliff at the height of 6,600 feet, completely made accessible to the public. The viewpoint is based on a flat, protruding piece of rock that is shaped like a dolphin’s nose with plunging valleys, rugged terrain, clear skies, and the splendor of green all around you. The peace and tranquility in the atmosphere are second to none and the most sought-after scenario is when a mystical fog has covered the mountains and valley.

Reaching this heavenly spot requires a moderate level 3 km long trek (or a half-day trip) through the pines and rocks of the Palani Hill Range. This destination is perfect for those who desire an adventurous twist to the otherwise what would have been a laidback trip in Kodaikanal.

Boat in the mystical waters of Berijam Lake

Berijam Lake is a quaint reservoir over a vast area of 59 acres, the calm waters of the Berijam Lake is so pure that it serves as the main source of potable water for Periyakulam. Surrounded by acacia and pine trees which are so pristine that it has a haunting quality. The serene surroundings of the lake make it the perfect place for birdwatching, gentle photography and quiet reflection.

The sparkling blue waters of Berijam Lake is ideal for nature lovers to enjoy – a tranquil spot away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The lake also facilitates the habitat of many animals such as Bison, Indian Elephant, Nilgiri Langur and Deer, and if you’re lucky, you will also be able to catch a glimpse of these majestic creatures.

Climate

The temperature in summer averages around 19 deg. Celsius. And in the winter it averages around 14 deg. Celsius. But temperatures can go up to 20 deg. Celsius making it pleasantly chilly all year round.

Transportation

You can get to Kodaikanal by air, by road or by train. The nearest airport is in Madurai and if you are taking a train, you can reach the stations in either Trichy or Madurai. Buses and taxis are easily available from airports and train stations in these cities.
Kodaikanal is linked via road to all the major cities. Based on your comfort requirements you can either take the government buses or the private buses

Healthcare

The major hospitals in Kodaikanal that provide healthcare facilities to residents and tourists are the KHMS Hospital, the Van Allen Hospital, and the Government hospital.
